I like to write up a Coming Soon post every so often, just to keep you, our readers, informed of what we’re working on and what you may see from us in the near future. As always, we’re in the middle of a number of different projects, most (but not all!) of them book-related. Here are some updates on some of the more concrete items.
Rise of Cithria Book 3 – The Breaking
We’re hard at work on the third entry in our Rise of Cithria series, with the goal of having it available early 2014. And by early, I mean January or February. Our goal is to have print copies available at the Dallas Sci-Fi Expo, scheduled for the first weekend in February, but that goal is of course dependent on having a quality book ready for print by that time. We’re not going to rush it, just to have print copies ready by that date. We expect a certain level of quality from ourselves, in everything we do, so the ultimate release date will be “when it’s ready.”
In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek of the book cover. It’s still a work-in-progress, but expect the final cover to look something like what you see below.
Also, we’re working on some companion pieces for Cithria, including short stories and a full-blown novel. Our focus is on the core series, but as we get time, we want to expand the world a bit through other stories and books. We’ll have more info on that sometime in the first half of 2014.
Tales of the Lore Valley – Books 3 and 4
Book 3 of the Lore Valley series, Betrayal of the Order, is now available on amazon.com and other online retailers! Print copies will be available in the first part of 2014, and I plan on having some at the Sci-Fi Expo in February, and possibly even as early as Helio-con in January. Grab yourself a copy now, or next weekend (Black Friday weekend) when the first book in the series will be FREE. In fact, load up on the whole series up to this point if you can. 🙂
Book 4 of the series, House Corovin, is nearing its final stages, and I hope to have it available in early 2014. Not sure if print books will be ready by February, but I think it’s a good bet that ebooks will be available by then. I’m in the midst of outlining books 5 and 6 of the series, but it’s more likely that I’ll start working on the second Lore Valley series in the meantime – The Darathan Prophecy, which works as a companion to the Wind Riders Chronicles. I’ll have more info on that in the near future.
If you visit our Events page, you’ll see that we have a number of appearances lined up for the first half of 2014, starting with Helio-con in January (Lewisville, TX) and the Dallas Sci-Fi Expo in February (Irving, TX). Also on the docket are cons in Austin, College Station, Houston, and one or two in Oklahoma.
One appearance I’d like to promote is our Panel Q&A at All-Con in March. We’ll be up at the front of the room, Saturday at 11am, taking questions about our books, our process, and independent publishing in general. So be sure to stop by, say hi, and chat with us a bit. We won’t have a vendor booth at the All-Con, but we might have a few signed copies available. More details on that are…. coming soon. 🙂
And just because we’ve ramped up our appearance/event schedule doesn’t mean we’re booked up. If you’d like to suggest any signings or events that you think we should make an appearance at, by all means let us know, either by email or in our forums. We like meeting our readers, so we’d be happy to show up just about anywhere!
I’ve been hearing your pleas and questions, and just so everyone knows, I AM slowly working on the followup to Sanctuary, a book titled Vengeance, but don’t look for that until the second half of 2014 at the earliest. I’m roughly 50% done with the first draft, but the books in that series tend to be written far more slowly than anything else I do. But it IS coming.
I’m also working on a sci-fi book called Olympia that I hope to have out sometime in the next 12-15 months. Rough draft is about 90% done, but I’m still working through some plot issues.
I believe Alistair’s next project is the sequel to his thriller, Shallow Creek, which has been selling fairly well. I don’t want to give any timelines, but if you’re ready to read more about the adventures of Brendan Rhodes, then send Alistair a few hundred emails. A day.
Patrick is busy working on Cithria, along with some planning/outlining of the follow-up series (yes, there’s a follow-up series), but he has a few other projects in the pipeline. One of them, an untitled young adult book, is something he and I are both looking forward to. I wish I could say more, but I can’t, not until we get some more details worked out, but hopefully that will be coming sometime in the next 12-18 months.
As always, be sure to let us know what you think through our forums here on the site, or through reviews on amazon, goodreads, barnes and noble, or iTunes. Reviews are especially important for independent authors like us. You can also find us on Facebook, twitter (kriskramer and McAlistair8), and instagram.
Don’t be shy!
